Recently, I've been learning Articulate Storyline 2, which is a tool for generating online training modules. So far, it's been great fun. I'm hoping to publish a sample tutorial and add it as a link on our site in the next couple of days.

I can see how useful the product could be for anyone, in education or industry, attempting to develop training materials for use in an online scenario. The product is relatively easy to get started with, and includes how-to videos. In addition, there is a well established (and generous) user community and a wealth of support available for developers.

I just recently completed some additional training modules from the "Buildamodule" series. It's very interesting, after having built a few Drupal sites, to learn alternative ways to do things. For example, this course was my first exposure to using Panels. I really appreciate how the Buildamodule courses take you through the process by creating a site. It's nice to have that example to keep as a reference.

I'm still working in Drupal. It's been (and continues to be) an interesting journey. I'm currently working on an "expense report" application that will allow the user to track travel and business expenses directly from his/her business web site. It looks like there aren't any "modules" to accomplish that - so I'm working with entity forms for the first time. There's always something new to learn with Drupal!

At the Twin Cities Drupal conference in early August I met a developer who recommended using the Mollom module to prevent spam attacks on my login screens. I have to say, it's been very successful! It was easy to set up, and for a small site it's actually a free service. Prior to that, I was using Captcha...which just wasn't working as well as I'd hoped. In my application, Mollom works much better.

The "Build A Module" online training for Drupal is great stuff! I started the module during the BuildAModule class at the Twin Cities Drupal Conference a couple of weeks ago. You can also purchase the online training by the month - or in a downloadable version.
